Ohio SB78 / HB289 is a proposed non-profit, full coverage health insurance plan with no bills for residents. But don’t fall in love with it… Is it fair? Who controls it? How is it paid for? Will it actually lower costs and improve outcomes? We are trying to help people draw their own conclusions on those questions.
The first law of thermodynamics never figured it’d have to deal with our lazy and hostile silliness.
Are all politicians corrupt? The relevant question is: am I corrupt? How do I make sure I’m not?
If we think politicians are crooked, then how should politics in a way that’s DIFFERENT from what we see now? Maybe we should flip the blame-game around and each look at ourselves in the mirror?
Politics is supposed to be the science of exploring “what’s best for society?”
That’s an awesome exploration! The skillset to harmonize the objective with diverse subjective values is an incredible art. It takes humility, tolerance, empathy and yet cool calculation to scrutinize solutions from every perspective.
Yet we elect people who vow to do the polar opposite. We at Forward Progress PAC are guilty of it ourselves. The way we propose to solve the problem is to turn the blame away from political “enemies” and onto ourselves to say: ‘what tangible things can I do to help?’
Thinking independently. Thinking introspectively. Thinking objectively. Thinking selflessly. That’s what we mean when we say Think Forward. We don’t always do it. We do always want to try.
Politicians leverage emotion.
Us vs. Them exonerates a politician from accountability, responsibilty and even basic job competency. We don’t care what these people are doing from 9-5 because ‘they’re better than their opponent’. How about ignoring the facade of partisan politics and realizing that we have unlimited choices and those choices are best made on assessment of workplace competency. What is the REAL business of politics? How can we defend against the manipulation? We can practice the science of politics and snooze the rhetoric. Our organizing model is to NOT PERSUADE ANYONE, but rather help inform people to derive their own educated opinions.

You won’t see us marketing Forward Progress PAC by characterizing it with adjectives or abstractions. We’re simply going to inform you, concretely, what we are doing. It’s up to you to decide if you think it’s any good or not. The minute we start getting anxious to tell you how great we are, is the minute we probably have some less-than-stellar motivations coloring our motivations. Let’s just let facts speak whatever they may shall we?
If you see plain evidence of our daily business and think that’s worth funding — then interact with us first and say hello! If you’re sold, you can fund what you see here →
If we are legit doing something worth it’s salt, then maybe you’d like to do that with us? Our job is to make it easy for people to accomplish real objectives in politics. We love volunteers (partly because we are volunteers until we make our first nickel).
